B) TECHNICAL EVALUATION SERVICE FOR PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS AND INSURERS
In such a busy second-hand market as the boat market, the vessel’s technical evaluation is essential to support the decision to buy or issue an insurance policy. Knowing a boat’s general state of repair minimizes the risks involved in of a transaction.
And if you want to sell your boat, we have the Trust Mark. If a seller, broker, repair workshop or other agent wants to prove that their products are suitable to the market and the authorities, they need a third-party certification that assures they have been certified independently
EUROCONTROL provides 4 levels of evaluation. You decide what level of risk you take, in other words, what level of confidence you want:
Level 0: We study the documents and issue a report on the state of the boat’s paperwork.
Benefits: Know if you are up to date on technical inspections, the waters where you can or could sail, whether the boat could carry more people, whether you could change its engine, …
Level 1: We conduct an inspection in a dry dock, shipyard or jetty without any operational testing, only making a visual inspection and studying the paperwork.
Additional benefits: Check the accuracy of the information without having to go to where the boat is.
Level 2: We conduct a thorough inspection, including safety (as in the TIV), and also pay attention to the boat’s performance, comfort, etc.
Additional benefits: An independent surveyor checks the boat’s characteristics, and justifies its value if required.
Level 3: We conduct a thorough inspection of certain details (inspection “on demand”)
Additional benefits: Thorough, specialized inspection of any item or issue that the customer requests.

THIS SERVICE IS INTENDED ESSENTIALLY, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, FOR:

  • INSURERS, who want to assess the risk before underwriting.
  • BUYERS, who want to assess the investment risk.
  • MARITIME FIRMS AND SELLERS IN GENERAL, who want to add value to their product.
